 Nowitzki scores a record 29 fourth-quarter points as Dallas rallied from 16 down in the 4th quarter for an improbable 96-85 victory. Yes Chamberlian scored 31 4th quarter points in his famous March 2 1962 100 point game, but Chamberlian did not bring his team back from 16 points down in the 4th quarter & Chamberlian did not have to play against Carlos Boozer, Andrei Kirilenko & Mehmet Okur the best front court in basketball.

Nowitzki hits an 18-foot turnaround jumper at the overtime buzzer  giving the Dallas Mavericks a 115-113 victory over the scrappy Milwaukee Bucks . Nowitzki finishes with 32 points 11 rebounds on the night.

 

November 18th 2009

Nowitzki scored 32 of his  41 points after intermission and carried Dallas to a second consecutive overtime victory, defeating Tim Duncan and Southwest Division rival San Antonio 99-94 on Wednesday night. Nowitzki scored 11 points in overtime.

 

November 27 2009

Dirk Nowitzki, the Mavericks' MVP forward, scored a game-high 31 points in just under 31 minutes, the Mavericks beat the Pacers 113-92 .Nowitzki goes 10-14 from the field & 11-13 from the line.

 

December 8 2009

Nowitzki scored a game-high 33 points to lead Dallas to a 102-101 victory against the Suns. Nowitzki is 12-20 from the field & 9-9 from the line.

Dirk Nowitzki scored 28 of his game-high 36 points in the second half and overtime against the Bobcats with a 98-97 victory Saturday. Nowitzki scored the last six points in regulation as the Mavs erased an 85-79 deficit in the final 1:29, capping the spurt with a 17-foot fadeaway with 10.9 seconds left. Nowitzki scored six more in the overtime

 

December 16 2009

in a nationally televised battle between superstars, Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki  scores 35 points and grabs 11 rebounds while Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant  scoring just 12 points and commits four turnovers. Nowitzki had 13 in the final quarter.

 

 

December 18 2009

 Dirk Nowitzki, is knocked out of the game in the second quarter after a collision with Houston's Carl Landry, who broke three teeth and was taken to an area emergency room. Nowitzki remained in the game and hit 1-for-2 free throws left-handed, but proceeded directly to the trainer's room and received three stitches in his right elbow. X-rays were negative, but Nowitzki did not return and finished with five points in 10 minutes.

 

They said they pulled fragments of Landry's teeth out of  Nowitzki elbow. Nowitzki only missed one game. Clearly in a great deal of pain Nowitzki  played the next month with stitches in his right  elbow. His shooting elbow  padded like a football player's Nowitzki scoring average dropped from 27 ppg to below 25 ppg.

 

December 22 2009

Nowitzki was 10-for-13 with a game-high 27 points and nine rebounds in his return following a one-game absence. He suffered a deep laceration in his right elbow in a collision with Carl Landry's teeth in the Mavericks' Friday night loss to Houston. Nowitzki played with bulky padding and bandages protecting the elbow, but logged a team-high 41 minutes.

Dirk Nowitzki outs duel Kevin Durant again scoring 32 points, in a stretch that featured four ties and three lead changes. Nowitzki's baseline 16-footer with 48.9 seconds left put Dallas ahead 95-93 and his jumper over Jeff Green from the top of the key with 6.9 seconds remaining made it 99-96.

Dirk Nowitzki had 31 points in a 101-96 win  against the Lakers. Dirk goes 10-19 FG & 11-11 FT to Kobes 9-23 FG 2-2 FT 20 points. Dirk Nowitzki converted two free throws with 1:15 remaining. Nowitzki, playing in his 900th game as a Maverick, is shooting a gaudy 96.4 percent (132-for-137) from the line in the fourth quarter and overtime this season.

Mavericks rallied to beat the Hawks 111-103 in overtime,  Dirk Nowitzki scores 37 points but his play over the final five-plus minutes of the fourth quarter as Dallas overcame a 90-77 deficit nearly defied description. The play-by-play sheet revealed that he scored 3-pointers on three consecutive possessions in that span, and added four rebounds, three assists, a steal -- and a knockout blow.

Nowitzki scored 39 points in the Mavericks' 126-108 victory against host Sacramento.  Nowitzki, who also added seven rebounds. Nowitzki made 13 of 13 free throws on the night and broke his own record now having made 68 consecutive free throws. The streak began on March 29 versus Denver and is a new franchise record, breaking his own previous mark of 60 consecutive free throws from the 2005-06 season.
