Tony Parker has been named the  2011-2012 NBA MVP

Tony Parker who led the San Antonio Spurs to the best record in the NBA  ( 50-16) , has been named the leagues MVP. Parker average 18.3 PPG & 7.7 APG in 60 games this season. The native Frenchman led the Spurs in minutes played ( 1923 ), FGM (427 ), FGA ( 890 ), FTM ( 227), FTA ( 284 ), PPG ( 18.3), Total points ( 1095 ) APG ( 7.7 ) Total AST ( 463 ).

 Tony Parker ranked #23 in the league in scoring. 8th in league in AST , His 3.03 to 1 AST-TO ratio was 7th best in the NBA.

Highlights

January 23, 2012 the Spurs beat the Hornets 104-102 Tony Parker filled up two columns on the stat sheet, scoring 18 points and handing out 17 assists, baffling the Hornets' defense with his ability to penetrate into the lane, finish around the basket in transition and find open shooters.

 

On February 4th playing OKC @ home Parker was 16-29 from the field, 10-12 from the line for 42 points with 9 ast & zero turnovers in the Spurs 107- 96 thumping of the Thunder.

February 14th playing at the Palace in Auburn Hills against the Detroit Pistons Tony Parker scores seven points in the last 1:13 to secure a 99-95 spurs victory

 

February 18th playing the LA Clippers & Chris Paul. Tony Parker was the best point guard on the floor. He finished with 30 points, including 12 in the fourth quarter and two more in overtime, and dished out 10 assists. Parker got to the free-throw line seven times in the final quarter in the Spurs 103-100 victory.

 

February 20th the Spurs Down the Jazz 106-102 Tony Parker continued his phenomenal season with 23 points and 11 assists as the Spurs rallied from an 11-point deficit.

 

March 7th the Spurs' Tony Parker got his first up-close look at Linsanity, and he scored 32 points on 12-of-19 shooting in less than 34 minutes while Jeremy Lin scored 20 (eight in the game's final two minutes of garbage time) in San Antonio's 118-105 victory over the Knicks on Wednesday at AT&T Center.

"He (Tony Parker) owns the team. He knows, and we know, that almost every possession goes through him. And when you play and you feel like that it makes you play with a different serenity and cool. He knows when to attack, and defenses don't know what to do with him because his shot has been really good and, if not, he's attacking the big, getting the fouls and making the free throws. He's having a great season and he knows this is his team."

March 12th The Spurs' Tony Parker scored 31 points on 13-for-18 shooting, leading San Antonio to a 54-percent shooting night and a 112-97 victory over the Washington Wizards on Monday at AT&T Center.

March 14th Tony Parker had his third-straight 30-point night -- 31 points along with 12 assists -- but it was his 16 fourth-quarter points for the Spurs that pushed Orlando over the edge in San Antonio's 122-111 victory over the Magic on Wednesday at AT&T Center. TURNING POINT: The Spurs were up by three with 6 minutes to go when Parker hit a driving left-handed layup over Ryan Anderson, Hedo Turkoglu missed a 3-pointer and Parker back down for a glaringly open 14-footer.

 

March 16th, The Spurs smoke OKC leading by as many as 27 in the second half. Final score114-105.Spurs point guard Tony Parker led San Antonio with 25 points

 

March 27th The visiting Spurs (34-14) pulled away from the Phoenix Suns in the fourth quarter and won their fifth straight, 107-100 Tony Parker had 24 points, seven assists, four rebounds and just two turnovers.

 

 

Joining Parker on the ALL-NBA first team are Pau Gasol of the LA Lakers, Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks, Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder & Dwight Howard of the Orlando Magic.
